Virus Heat is a fake anti-virus program. It usually auto starts when you boot up your computer and runs a fake anti-virus scan and then tells you that you are infected with spyware or a virus and that you need to purchase their software in order to be free of this. They try and scare people into buying thier fake security software by telling you your credit card information is being stolen and that your identity and personal files are being highjacked. This program does not steal personal infromation but does cause a ton of pop-ups and can go out and download other spyware programs.

Most of the time people install this program intentionally. they download a fake video codec to watch a video and bang they are infected. If you had proper protection you would of not gotten infected in the first place.

Mcafee is a popular anti-virus and anti-spyware client that is free from man y internet security providers. If you have that then just remove it as it does not offer good protection. I make more money off of people who have Mcafee then any other security program including free ones. That brings up another subject. You get what you pay for. If you have a free client then you do not have enough protection. There is a reason why it is free. In fact many free programs are spyware themselves. Virus Heat is one such program.
