Broadband Internet Providers
I went on holiday recently to stay with friends in New York and they had high speed internet access. I only had dial-up at home at the time because there wasn't a great choice of broadband internet providers in my area and I hadn't really bothered to have a look at them and to be honest had no idea of the difference in speed. After trying the high-speed connection in my friends house I was blown away by the difference compared to my dial up connection. The difference between dial-up and high speed connection is like the difference between a fiesta and a Lamborghini or a unicycle and a honda fireblade! It's difficult to describe the difference in performance. I couldn't believe how fastwebsites were loading or how fast I was able to send emails. I decided I had to have a high speed connection and vowed to discover the different plus's and minus's of the broadband internet providers back home on my return.
There isn't a huge number of broadband internet providers in my area at home, so it wasn't exactly a major job to collect all the information and compare prices, features, and services. The first thing I noticed was that the cost of high speed internet access has been reduced significantly in the past few years. I recall when broadband internet providers began advertising their products, the starting package was in the region of $60 a month. This price was simply more than I was willing to pay at the time, I'm not online enough to justify it. it's all very different now though the majority of broadband internet providers are selling their products in some cases for less than $20 a month. This is fantastic as its not much more than I'm paying for my dial-up connection. I guess much of this is due to the huge competition between broadband internet providers which obviously is great for people like me who are looking to get high speed internet for the first time. Because of this competition there are great deals out there ranging from free modems, to free trial periods and special starter rates. This is really is a great time to get broadband connection and I decided I was in!

Once I found the broadband internet provider that provided the best overall internet package I gave them a call and signed up. A couple of days later I was set up and running and boy was definitely the best decision I've made in a long time! Iwork from home quite a lot these days and my productivity has improved dramatically since getting high-speed access. I never have to wait for a connection, I've had no broken connections which was a regular occurence with dial up, and I can finish my work much faster I've ever been able to do before. My only regret is that I didn't get it much sooner! If you're still using dial-up connection I suggest you compare your local broadband internet providers right now.Trust me you won't regret it!
