Get Rid of Spyware on Your Computer
Are you someone
that is frustrated
of software being downloaded without your consent?
If so, there is solution!
First, let’s discuss what spyware really is.
Spyware is a program that does not tell you what it does before you install it, tries to hide itself or is misleading in its operation or description. Since there are literally countless variations of spyware, a single fix does not exist. The symptoms above are only mentioned as a very general set of guidelines that may identify the presence of spyware on a computer. The best definition out there is given by Wikipedia: “Spyware is a broad category of malicious software intended to intercept or take partial control of a computer’s operation without the user’s informed consent. Thus, spyware has come to mean not only the “software that spies on you,” but also the software that performs other kinds of abuses and annoyances, outside the traditional virus-and-worm world. It goes by many names: spyware, adware, foistware, malware, eulaware, or even crapware. For simplicity we’ll just call them all spyware.
In most cases the owner of a computer won’t even be aware that their computer is infested with spyware. It’s not uncommon to begin to clean a system of spyware and find a dozen or so programs merrily executing code and collecting data. For virtually everyone surfing the Internet, spyware is a nuisance, but if you do not detect spyware on your PC, it can lead to much more serious consequences like identity theft. Because of the threat that malware poses, a spyware removal tool installed on your PC is essential.
Recently, spyware issues are also influencing how consumers use the Internet. According to research released last week by the Pew Internet & American Life Project, “nine out of ten Internet users say they have adjusted their online behavior out of fear of falling victim to software intrusions.
New spyware is constantly being created. Your software should not only clean out your current spyware, it should protect you from getting any new spyware on your system. The spyware allegedly allowed the defendants to track a computer’s Web browsing behavior in order to deliver targeted advertisements to that computer. Thus, if a computer with spyware visited music-related Internet sites, the spyware would send a signal of the computer user’s activity back to the defendants, which then targeted the computer with advertisements from music-oriented companies that paid for access to the computer through spyware. Spyware can harm a web site financially (through lost advertising revenue) and could potentially damage a site’s reputation. It might appear that a page is linking to a questionable site when in fact the creator of the page has done no such thing.
