Zlob How To Completely Remove It

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

A zlob may disguise itself as beneficial software or it may be completely hidden on your pc.

A zlob may hijack your browser and take you to sites you don’t want to go to.

Zlob, otherwise known as the Zlob Trojan or Trojan.Zlob, disguises itself as a necessary video codec. It was first released in 2005 but didn’t become a big nuisance until 2006. After it’s installed on your pc it displays poups that look like a real Microsoft Windows warnings popup telling the user that their pc is infected with spyware. When the user clicks on the the popup a rogue antispyware program (like Virus Heat or Winantivirus) is downloaded to the pc.

Whats worst is a Zlob could download and install a keylogger on your pc that will log everything you do online, including logging into your bank account or stealing your credit card number.

It’s not recommended that you manually remove Zlob because it can lead to damaging your pc even further. I recommend finding an antispyware program that’s proven to detect and remove Zlob.

When searching for antispyware it’s important to look for software that automatically downloads daily spyware database updates, offers great tech support, 100% spyware removal guarantee, and has numerous 5 star awards.

Computer Repair

Taking care of Virtumonde will be very time consuming. The sad truth is this threat can not be removed manually you will need one of two things. Expert help or software to fully remove this threat. For those out there that aren’t willing to spend any money then the only advice we can give is to format you system and fully re-install your operating system. Chances are you will get infected again because you did not purchase any internet security software. That is why you really should just break down and pay the few bucks for software to remove Virtumonde.

Only by having protection can you remove this threat. With that said you do have several options. You can always call a personal tech to come out and remove the spyware and viruses for you. The cost will vary and if you want it done that day or the next you will have to pay extra at most places. Another option is to have your computer repaired online. This tends to work well for many people and is a little cheaper in price. Some companies that do PC repair online are Computer Repair. There are several companies out there so feel free and shop around. You can also haul your computer into a shop to have this strain removed. Normal turn around is a few days for most shops but cheaper then having a personal tech come out. It’s still better to have your PC repaired online but if you want to support a local company then that is the better route to go down.

The last option you have is to purchase software to remove this threat. Programs like Norton, Trend Mirco and Mcafee which are some of the most popular suits out there have proven worth less against this threat. They can often times block the install and pop-ups but fail to fully remove this threat. The only software that does fully work is Spyware Doctor. Check out the Vundo website for more information on this.

The Priority of Regular Security Software Checks to Counter Anti-spyware and More

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

While you may think that security software for your computer is expensive, a number of developers have made some of their versions available over the Internet for free. Hard to believe, but true. Instead of purchasing expensive security software packages that have more fire power than what a typical consumer might ever use, you can find simpler versions that can be downloaded for free from certain sites.

Although there are indeed free security programs, you need to search for ones that contain important features which will truly help protect your computer. If you can’t find one security program that contains all these features, then you should consider downloading multiple individual programs to ensure you are fully protected.

The first security software you need is called a firewall. Most new computers come with a firewall already built in. If not, however, you will need it to prevent unauthorized probes either to or from your computer. By adjusting the settings of your firewall, you instruct the computer what you are allowing in from the Internet and out from your computer to the Internet.

The next component that a free security program should have is an anti-virus program. A good anti-virus program will be able to not only identify and deter all incoming viruses, but should also be capable of detecting, repairing, quarantining, and eliminating infected files you already have on your computer. There are always new viruses being developed - cyber thugs are ingenious - so it is important that your anti-virus definition file is routinely updated either daily or at least weekly. No anti-virus program is worth it - free or otherwise - if it can’t perform these basic tasks because otherwise you will only be protected for a short period of time.

A security program should also include an anti-spyware program in addition to adware and pop up blockers. Spyware and adware are embedded in so many of the programs and web sites you visit that, without an effective program to block and eliminate them, your computer will be bogged down with spam, advertising, and monitoring programs in no time at all. Spyware alone can access and collect personal information on your computer leaving you open to the threat of identity theft and more. You need to have a defense program that locates spyware and adware and cleans them out as quickly as possible so that your computer continues to run smoothly.

Finally, if possible, try to find a free security program that includes an anti-Trojan program to eliminate Trojan viruses. These are special and unique viruses that are hidden within programs such as a game or even a music file. Anti-Trojan programs should be able to scan all the files that you download to verify they are secure and harmless. Again, make sure your security software allows daily or weekly updates, because Trojan viruses are constantly in development.

A couple of options to find free security programs include www(dot)tucows(dot)com and www(dot)download(dot)com. Search their sites for the types of security programs you need (e.g. anti-virus, spyware, adware, etc.), and then look through the lists using a filter of “free” or “freeware.”

Virtumonde.dll

At some point you are going to need your computer repaired. Hardware and software issues will always happen at some point. Close to half if not more of all computer repair jobs have to do with removing spyware or viruses from computers. It’s sad but many people are misinformed and don’t bother to get protection. They think things like I only go on trusted websites. Well even trusted websites get hacked. Trend Micro is on of the leading manufacturers of anti-virus and anti-spyware software and they were just hacked a few weeks back.

Even if your still not convinced you don’t visit sites that may be infected think of this. Do you use any search engines like Google or Yahoo? If so then just clicking on one of those links can get you infected if you are not protected. I once did a search for a software driver on a computer we just loaded up a new operating system on. I punched in the part number and clicked the first link. I was not even online more then 10 seconds before I was hit with the virtumonde Virus. I ended up having to spend the next two hours repairing the system.

There are three things you computer can not be without. Those three must haves are a good firewall a good anti-virus client and a lastly spyware protection. I’m not knocking free software but there is not one free anti-virus client that can match the protection of most paid software. Every year you have to pay to re-new your client software. If not then you are leaving yourself open to all the latest threats.

For the most part people do have an anti-virus client installed and by default in XP and Vista you have a firewall. The one thing most people skip out on is spyware protection. Spyware is more prevalent on the net nowadays then viruses are. Rather then just crashing your system, why not have a thousand pop-ups and push fake anti-virus software onto people? Go out and pay the 3o bucks for an anti-spyware program. If you need virus protection and a firewall then add anther 20 bucks onto that and you’re good to go.

It’s a very wise investment and the next time your co-worker complains about being infected you will be glad you did. For a list of what we use visit our Spyware Removal Softwarae page. If you are already infected or looking for some affordable help then visit our Online Computer repair site.
