Just like any other console, and maybe more so than others, the Xbox 360 is going to run into some sort of issue. The infamous red lights, also known as the red ring of death is something that is quite feared in the gamer community. Three lights will either flash red or show a solid red on the front of your console, and at that point the console will not work anymore. In most cases three red lights flash and the upper right light does not flash. Following is a bit of information on fixing the Xbox 360 when this does happen to you.

Sometimes the light on the 360 will t urn a solid red or turn off completely. The warning sign will be if the power supply light switches to orange when you are playing a game or just generally using the system. The reasons that this might happen differ greatly, but in all cases this will happen if the external power supply detects that something is wrong. Hooray for smart hardware.

The power supply itself has more than a few safeguards that will keep harm from coming to your system. The power supply even turns it off when it recognizes that there is too much voltage or the temperature is just too high. In this case the lights will turn red or the system will turn off. In the worst case the system will freeze and not even give you an error code.

There are a few different things that you can try to fix your system. First of all you need to see what temperature the power supply is currently at, if it is not cool there is a problem and the red light may have been an indicator to that fact. If that is the case then put your power supply in a nice well ventilated space and turn off your system. When it has cooled sufficiently then you can turn the system back on. If all went well, then the lights will turn orange and you will be able to switch your console on once again.

You may find that the Xbox 360 is not getting the voltage that it needs. This can be so if you have plugged into a surge protector or an extension cord. If this is the case, then you should be able to plug it directly into the wall and see if it works. There is also an error system built into the red ring itself that you can use if anything goes wrong.

If all else fails then you can try a different power cord because there is a chance that the one you are using was defective. If you try another one and it turns on then you have found the problem. If it does not then it's time to pay for your console to be fixed.

Do you have an Xbox 360 that freezes up? Are you getting the red ring of death error signal? You are now a member of a growing international group of frustrated and angry Xbox owners.

Misery may love company but this isn't going to help you any, so how you can repair your Xbox will be the topic of this article. In no special order, they are:

1.) You can return it to Microsoft for repair or replacement. If your warranty is still valid, they will do this free of charge. Otherwise be prepared to spend more than $100.

Note that if you have opened up your console, your warranty is void. It doesn't matter whether or not you were trying to fix it yourself or had some other justifiable reason, your warranty will be void.

This process can take a long time. Two weeks is the typical time for getting a replacement. There is also a specified packing routine that Microsoft wants you to follow before returning your Xbox.

2.) You can attempt to wet-nurse your console back to good health. If your Xbox hasn't had very many ring of death failures, then there may not have been much heat damage. You may be able to avoid future ring of death failures by ensuring that your Xbox doesn't overheat.

Getting too hot is the primary reason for the ring of death failures. Make sure that the fan vents are clear of any blockage. Operate your Xbox in an open and cool environment. Limit your gaming to less than 3 or 4 hours.

Note that if you're getting frequent ring of death shutdowns, then a good amount of damage has already been done. Avoiding the ring of death may not be achievable by keeping your Xbox cool. If your Xbox has had too much heat damage, expect the ring of death to occur more frequently with time.

3.) Fix the console yourself. Before you try this option, remember that opening your console voids your warranty. But if you have an expired or voided warranty, then there's nothing to lose and are free to open up and work inside of your console.

Doing your own repairs can seem intimidating or may sound complicated. But if you're using the right info and a few household tools, it's not that hard to do. The Internet has more than enough information about how to fix your Xbox both free and paid.

The problem with free info is all of the research work that you'll have to do. Bad advice abounds on the Internet and weeding out good information can take a lot of time.

There are many paid instructional guides that will give you step by step info on Xbox repair. You should insist on a money back guarantee. The Mage is the king of burst DPS in World of Warcraft and are desired by most groups due to their damage output, intelligence buff, and the ability to provide health and mana regenerating food and drink.

While the Mage is definitely a power house in the DPS department they generally lack in hit points. Some classes such as a Warrior, Paladin, Death Knight wear heavy armor and have a large amount of hit points and can out last many mobs. Other classes like Priest, Druid, and Shaman have the ability to heal themselves when the going gets tough. Rogues can disappear, and Hunters and Warlocks have their pet to absorb damage. The Mage has none of these. They have low hit points, wear cloth armor, cannot heal themselves, and have no pet. What the Mage has is control and it is something that you must learn how to use when you are leveling your Mage.

Like all classes in World of Warcraft the Mage has three skill trees. These are Arcane, Fire, and Frost. The first two can inflict massive amounts of damage but lack control. In the Fire and Arcane trees there is little in the form of crowd control. Of course all Mage characters have the infamous "sheep" ability but only Frost gives even more control.

While frost may not give you the massive hit that Arcane and Fire can, you will have a lot more control of the situation. Some talents allow your chill effects to actually freeze the target for a short time, you can also increase the time the chill lasts for and stun your target. Frost can be very effective to use when levelling solo.

One tactic that work extremely well when leveling Mage's is to go to an area where there are a lot of mobs (best if they're green to you). Gather them in and once you're surrounded let them have your Frost Nova. This will keep them in one place which will allow you to do massive damage when you follow up with your Blizzard. This tactic is a personal favorite of mine and it works really well.

Many people argue that you should focus on mobs that are your own level, but I see it differently, let's look at 2 scenarios.

In the first scenario we will head out to a zone that has mobs which are my level. Since they hit way too hard and I have tissue paper for armor I am not going to be able to area of effect hunt and will be forced to kill one at a time. Since they are my level they have more hit points and it takes longer to nuke them down, and after each kill I need to sit down and gulp some refreshments before I can engage the next one. For each of these kills we will say that I gain 200 experience points. For the sake of argument let's say I can kill one mob every 3 minutes, so that would be 20 per hour. Total experience per hour would be 4,000.

In scenario 2 we will head out into a zone where there are a heap of mobs that are all green to me. I start rounding them up 5 at a time and going at them by freezing them and then using Blizzard. I'll earn about 500 experience points for each group of mobs that I kill. I kill these off at about the same time it took me to kill 1 in scenario 1. I can therefore make 10000 experience points per hour compared to 4000 in scenario 1. I'll also get to loot a heap more mobs meaning I'll be able to make a lot more cash.

At first glance leveling a mage may seem like a tough process. Especially give that they lack a lot of the abilities that other classes have. But if you take the time to master the art of control you have a massive advantage in that you can wipe out many creatures in short time periods.

I have made a short list of the more popular movies put up on the big screen in 2008. These are some of the motion pictures I enjoyed watching this year. I hope you find a picture or two that are good viewing.

10,000 B.C.: This cinematic production takes us back to prehistoric times. When rival hunters invade the Yaghai tribe, they kidnap the beautiful Evolet. D'Leh, a young hunter who loves Evolet, leads a group of hunters to pursue the warlords, and save her, and the rest of the captured tribe members.

WANTED: Wesley, an office worker going nowhere in life, learns that his father, who he never really knew, is a contract killer. His father is killed, and now he is being recruited into the group of assassins that his dad was a member of. He is asked to become the killing expert that that he was destined to become. After that, everything becomes extremely complicated. Enjoy this roller coaster ride.

THE CHRONICALS OF NARNIA, PRINCE CASPIAN: Just one year has passed in their normal lives when, the four saviors of Narnia, Lucy, Susan, Peter, and Edmund are mysteriously pulled back into Narnia. Running for his life, Prince Caspian has blown the magic horn, in a desperate plea for help. 100's of years have passed since they left Narnia, but the four legendary characters have be summoned back to battle for the freedom of Narnia once again. With the support of the bravest in the forest, including, a dwarf, the centaurs, and a very skilled mouse, they battle to free Narnia.

Jumper: During a near death experience, David Rice discovers an amazing thing. He can teleport himself to anywhere he desires to be, anytime he wants. Later, he becomes aware that he is not alone in having this ability. Unfortunately, after a few years of fun, he is exposed to hunters that are trying to rid the world of jumpers. He must fight for his life, as the hunters want him dead.

WALL-E: This picture is a science fiction adventure in animation. Everyone has been removed from Earth because it had become a big pile of trash. Waste removal robot, Wall-E, has been left to continue cleaning. When Eve, another robot, arrives looking to see if the planet can sustain any life, Wall-E is finally not alone. Eventually, when Eve is recovered by the craft that sent her, Wall-E somehow get on the ship, and starts an incredible adventure.

BOLT: Bolt is an animated comedy. Bolt is a dog actor, who plays the role of a dog that has super hero dog powers. The thing about Bolt is that he really thinks he has superpowers. When, by chance, he is put into a real life situation, he discovers that he is just a dog. On a journey to get back home, he is helped by a cat named Mittens, and an overweight hamster named Rhino.

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS: It was a wild night in Las Vegas. Young partiers Joy and Jack wake up to discover that they are married. After winning a huge jackpot, each thinks they deserve the prize, so they ask a judge for a decision. The judge decides that they must stay together for six months, and try to make their marriage work. With $3 million on the line, they each try to get the other to give up, as both desire to get the money for themselves.

TWENTY ONE: The basis for this film is the true story of M.I.T. wiz kids who formed a team of blackjack winners. These wiz kids learned to beat the game, and then performed a ruthless attack on the tables. To play in Las Vegas, where players can be banned for winning with card counting skills, they had to change casinos often, and disguise themselves, so the wouldn't get caught. This movie is based on the best selling book that tells how the M.I.T. teams took it to the casinos.

THE DARK KNIGHT: In this film Batman, along with Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, have been taking down the criminal elements of the city. Things are going very well, but now a new super criminal arrives on the scene, and attacks the city. Batman has his work cut out him now, as criminal mastermind, the Joker, has released his criminal plots on the big city.

Many people will buy films when the come out on DVD, and watch them at home. A more recent method for getting films is through downloads from the internet. There are websites that with a membership, you can download virtually any movie ever made.

Review: Red Alert 3: The popular pc games of Red Alert were made famous by the Command and Conquer franchise. The last episode of the game was produced seven years ago leaving loyal fans left to wait for the next installment.

Offered up by this release of the game are the tremendously great graphics such as, intelligent dolphins used as weapons, teleporting and transformation tanks.

The game has awesome graphics that offers weaponry such as intelligent dolphins, teleportation, and tanks that can transform. Red Alert 3 also has many television and movie stars to help with the almost comical narration and characters. Review: Football Manager 2009: Football Manager is back in 2009 offering a game with many new features and options to choose from. The most recognizable being the awesome 3D match engine that goes beyond the normal gamer's imagination. With this extra dimension in game play comes the growing excitement about this year's Football Manager.

Although there are many exciting features to talk about in Football Manager, I can't release them all. I will give you this one however; you will find the addition of both old and new players. The football players themselves have been updated as well. There are definitely many possible winning combinations of football players, coaches and championships with this one.

When looking for a new game for the personal computer, Red Alert 3 and Football Manager 2009 make two of the best choices. Both games will excite and amuse the player for hours with added features and some familiar faces of television, movies and many sports icons.

Packed with features and benefits, load-shedding has added even more to the appeal of a notebook. Effective and convenient, Philip Henning, Acer product manager, Axiz says they're no longer just the answer for more independent, mobile employees, but rather a long-term solution to South Africa's power supply problems. Especially with batteries now being made to last that much longer.

"With power cuts and load-shedding currently so unpredictable, a notebook enables you to keep working whether the lights are on or off," says Henning.

"Best of all, it also makes the transition between electricity and battery power seamlessly - meaning you don't lose everything you've forgotten to save the moment the power trips."

Henning adds that whether you choose to invest that little bit more in an additional or long-life battery, by taking proper care of your notebook battery, you'll be able to use each valuable second of its power.

Here's how to do this...

1) Turn off your wireless and Bluetooth. These are usually switched on as a default. Even when they're not connected, they consume valuable power.

2) Stay away from multimedia. Multimedia activities like computer games, music or DVDs are an instant way of draining battery power.

3) Use your hard drive more. Copy programs from DVDs or CDs and run these from your hard drive. This uses far less energy than your optical drive.

4) Disconnect external devices. USB devices, PC card modems and optical drives all zap energy from your battery - as does an external mouse.

5) Tweak your power options. Select a power setting that turns off your notebook monitor and hard drive after 10 minutes of inactivity.

6) Dim your display. Adjusting your screen's brightness will save you battery power.

7) Turn off. Turn off all scheduled tasks, as well as auto-save features in Microsoft Office and other applications.
Turn down. Mute or decrease your notebook speaker volume.

As to whether to use "stand by" or "hibernate", Henning says this depends on how long you will be away from your computer. "Standby saves you power when you're not using your computer for a short period of time. Your screen and hard drive turn off, and all of your applications and open files are stored in the notebook's RAM. As soon as you move your mouse again or hit a key, your desktop will be restored exactly as you left it."

In contrast, hibernation mode should be used when you're away from your computer for a longer period. "In this situation, your notebook shuts down to conserve power, but first saves everything on your hard drive."

Henning explains that the biggest misconception about notebook batteries is that you "save" them by not using them. "The average battery needs to be completely drained and recharged at least once a month. This increases its ability to hold a charge. By leaving your battery in your notebook while using an electrical outlet for long periods of time, you keep charging it - and actually reduce its lifecycle."

With some batteries offering you up to 12 hours of work time, notebooks have just become the new best friends of all South Africans. By using your battery selectively (at times when you know there will be power!) and regularly, you'll ensure you keep benefiting from all the advantages of mobility - with or without the lights on.
